As a commitment to student success, tutoring is available for Turabian, English grammar, Logos Bible Software, and for other general topics. The purpose of tutoring is to assist students in achieving greater competency in their studies as opposed to completing work for students. Peer tutors welcome the opportunity to serve you on campus or online, but they are also available on a limited basis.
Students may check out materials for up to three weeks at a time and may renew the materials up to three times. A student may borrow a maximum of 25 items at any given time. Exceptions may be granted at the librarian's discretion. Individuals are not permitted to borrow materials for the purpose of lending to others.
Books may be renewed online through individual Populi accounts by selecting "Library" at the top of the dashboard. Items may also be renewed by emailing librarian@ccbs.edu or calling (910) 323-5614.
Students who live at least 50 miles from campus may have books sent to them. The books are due to the library four weeks from the date they are received. The library pays to send the books to students, and students must pay for return shipping. When an eBook is available, the library will not ship a physical copy of the book.
Library staff will help students learn how to find and use reference sources, and answer general questions about classwork and basic formatting of papers. Staff will provide general technology assistance with library computers, printing, and software such as MS Office Suite. Students may acquire service by walking-in during library hours (based on staff availability), making an appointment in-person or online, and through email or telephone.
Reference materials are for use in the library. They may only be borrowed by faculty members to use in the classroom. Online students may request photo copies of pages that are emailed at no cost as long as the request adheres to fair use under current copyright law.
It is the intention to have one copy of each textbook in the reserve collection for use in the the library. Changes in editions and course offerings may affect the availability of textbooks. Textbooks may only be checked out to take to the classroom by special permission. Students, who are waiting for their ordered textbooks, may check out a textbook on Friday and return it on Monday by 10 a.m. Failure to return the book on Monday will prohibit future ability to checkout textbooks.
The library has two study rooms that may can be reserved for up to two hours at a time. If there are no reservations, study rooms may be used on a first-come, first-served basis. Study Room #1 is equipped with a computer and camera.
Computers
Students may use the computers in the main library area and Study Room #1. Computers are equipped with Microsoft Office Suite.
Students may print up to 140 black and white pages at no cost each semester. For assistance with printing, speak with a library staff member.
Overdue fines and replacement costs for damaged and/or lost items must be paid before borrowing more materials. Overdue books are fined 25 cents per book per day. Cost to replace any lost or damaged library materials will consist of the cost of the material plus a $5.00 processing fee.

Manna University
CCBS students may borrow up to five items from Manna University (Fayetteville, NC) with a CCBS student ID card. For assistance contact the CCBS library staff.
Association of Christian Libraries
This is a voluntary program whereby ACL institutions choosing to participate would extend in-person borrowing privileges to authorized patrons from other ACL institutions. Patrons, including faculty, students, and staff, have reciprocal access to the physical collections of participating Christian institutions. This access is especially valuable for those who may not live near their home institution.
American Theological Library Association
The Atla Reciprocal Borrowing Program is an arrangement between participating Atla Institutional Members and Affiliate Candidate Libraries to grant check-out privileges to each other’s patrons/students. A patron/student walks into a participating library, shows proof of current enrollment at another participating library, and checks out materials based on its local lending policies. The library belongs to the Association of Christian Librarian’s Library Consortium and is able to borrow materials from other member libraries. Students wishing to borrow a book that is not owned by the library may email librarian@ccbs.edu with the name of the author, title, publisher, and copyright date of the book. If the book is available, it will be ordered as soon as possible. Borrowers may keep books for up to two weeks.
About the Mark and Marilyn Boyd Memorial LIbrary
Mark Boyd has been the President of Control Solutions since 2004 taking it from a modest regional pesticide company to an international chemical company with nearly 200 million in sales in 2016. During that 15-year stint, he and his wife Marilyn determined that their greatest usefulness to the Kingdom of God would be to focus on making disciples by supporting the Body of Christ financially. For this reason, they invested in Carolina College of Biblical Studies with a focus on providing an enhanced study and resource facility. To this end, they dedicated this library with the hope that it will greatly enhance both the quality and the quantity of disciples proclaiming the great news that Jesus Christ is both Lord and God!
